The Esenboğa International Airport is a Turkish airport located 17 miles northeast of the capital city of Turkey, Ankara. It is one of the oldest airports in Turkey; operating since 1955. The airport is also connected with the city center Kizilay through various roads. Moreover, due to the construction of the road between Esenboga airport and the Ankara ring road, the driving time from the city center to the airport is decreased by several minutes. . Esenboğa International Airport was also regarded as the best airport in Europe by Airport Council International (ACI Europe) and the award was presented to the airport officials based on four categories on 17 June 2009 in Manchester.
